soon after Honda announced to launch Moblio in India, heat inside the MPV segment started increasing day after day. The segment’s best Innova and Ertiga were toiled to stand in competition against the Mobilio. A specification comparison amongst them conducted would definitely turn out the approximate results. Here are the details…
Price:
Pricing is the best bet to toss the game in India. Toyota Innova starts at Rs 9.67 lakh and goes on till Rs 14.92 lakh, claiming the biggest price tag of all. Maruti Ertiga falls flat for masses with Rs 5.80 lakh and trails to the top-end variant with Rs 8.24 lakh. Expectedly, Honda is anticipated to retail the Mobilio for Rs 6.25 lakh in base petrol variant.
Power:
Honda to plant the Mobilio with 1.5 liter petrol and 1.5 liter diesel worth of 117bhp and 98.6bhp respectively. Maruti had submerged the Ertiga with K14 1.4 liter petrol engine of 93.7bhp, and the very famous Fiat’s 1.3 liter Multijet diesel of 88.7bhp. The biggest of all, Toyota Innova swept out the rest with 2.0 liter petrol of 130bhp and 2.5 liter diesel of 102bhp.
Space:
On the space, Toyota Innova leads them with the wheelbase of 2750mm, where the Ertiga falls second with 2740mm, and last to come on the podium is Honda Mobilio at 2650mm. On other corners, the Toyota Innova stands tall amongst them, while the Maruti MPV fills in the gap with better width and height than Mobilio!
Conclusion:
Toyota Innova is the best of all, but heavy pricing disappoints it a bit. And there comes the mass favorite Ertiga to the rescue. Ertiga failed to spruce the enthusiast with the power figures. Right now, Honda seems planning to cave in a slot between both the categories – pricing and power. Let’s see what the launch of Mobilio will say in terms of sales numbers.
